The Naughty List<\/em> came out over two years ago.<\/p>\n Two years!<\/p>\n I know, how crazy is that? Honestly, it breaks my brain a little bit to think about it, in fact I triple-checked to make sure that I was right.<\/p>\n Wow.<\/p>\n Anyway, ’tis the season so over the next few days I’m going to share some excerpts from the stories in The Naughty List<\/em> with you. He was sitting by himself and, hell, she was going to get to the bottom of this.<\/p>\n She strode through the dining hall just as he was taking a sip from a glass. As she slid into the seat across from him, he smiled over the rim.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease, have a seat.\u201d He set his glass down, licking his lips.<\/p>\n Jeanie was right\u2014his being hot did matter. She was going to have a hard time concentrating on anything other than his mouth.<\/p>\n \u201cWhy are you following me?\u201d She jabbed a finger in his direction.<\/p>\n He raised his eyebrows and looked around\u2014the picture of innocence. \u201cI was here first.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cNo, not right now. You know I\u2019m not referring to that. You know something about what keeps happening to me. I know you do.\u201d<\/p>\n The waiter delivered his food and a glass of water for her. Zeit smiled, nodded his thanks and sat back, without touching it.<\/p>\n When the waiter turned to her, looking expectant, she glanced around and reached for the menu before shaking her head. \u201cUhh, can I just have what he\u2019s having?\u201d<\/p>\n After the waiter left, Hannah stared at his plate. It smelled good. \u201cWhat did I just order?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cQuail gizzards filled with snake bile on top of maggots.\u201d<\/p>\n Her stomach turned even though she knew he was lying. Idiot.<\/p>\n Zeit sat there\u2014doing his intense and carnal thing. \u201cBe careful what you ask for, Hannah, because you might not appreciate the answers you receive.\u201d<\/p>\n When he said her name, a chill inched across her skin, ending with a fluttering in her already anxious stomach. Being attracted to him would be so inconvenient.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat are you doing to me?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhat do you think I\u2019m doing?\u201d<\/p>\n She glared at him. Saying it out loud would sound utterly stupid. \u201cI keep having these lapses of time. One minute, I\u2019m in one place and, the next, I\u2019m in another. And four times now, I\u2019ve seen you walking away from me when it\u2019s happened.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo, you\u2019re accusing me of doing something to your memory?
