<\/p>\nAt the start of each year I set goals for myself, share them publicly (for accountability) and then at the end of the year I assess how well I did in reaching them.<\/p>\n
I started 2017 off like this:<\/p>\n

And to show you why I’m going to break down all my 2017 goals one by one, looking at what I did and didn’t do… Items are are bolded are goals I consider achieved.<\/p>\n
This year is going to be one of doing a lot of things behind the scenes. That stuff isn\u2019t particularly sexy, but it does need to be done. For example:<\/p>\n
On a demon-y level I want to:<\/p>\n
Under Glass for \u201cShe\u2019s on the Bottom\u201d I want to:<\/p>\n

<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\nI didn’t get any of my Paranormal Circus goals accomplished. I made progress on them, but nothing very exciting. I’m just really, really failing at consistency when it comes to this series. I don’t think it’s because of the stories though, I think it’s because Other Me was pretty over-scheduled. If I don’t make progress on them this year, however, I’m definitely going to need to consider dropping this project. Which will make me sad because there’s something about these stories that really, really inspires me.<\/p>\n
…which might be part of the problem. They are actually kind of intimidating — trying to get everything to connect together correctly and layer properly. It’s sort of paralyzing.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve also got some editing and publishing-related goals. First, for editing:<\/p>\n
And lastly, as a micro-publisher at Pen and Kink<\/p>\n
…so, I’m not really sure how I feel about 2017. As an editor and a publisher I feel like I did okay, but I really fell down as a writer. I did have a story in Covalent Bonds<\/em><\/a> though, which makes me happy because I’d like to continue to ensure that all my writing isn’t self-published.<\/p>\n But still.<\/p>\n Not a bad year, professionally, by any means.
