Erotica Under Glass ~ Panties. Day One Progress

Gorgeous woman in a bra and panties
I’m done for the day, I think. It’s possible that I’ll manage to sneak some more writing time in this evening, but I doubt it. Still, I think it was a good day progress-wise. I wrote just over 4,000 words on a story I’m currently calling “Twin Magic”. I used the image above as the inspiration for it, and I think it’s pretty hot so far.

Here’s a little excerpt from the first draft:

I didn’t know Becca knew how to move like that. Like an exotic dancer, but the best kind. She didn’t bump and grind or gyrate all over like she was having a seizure. She moved slowly, sinuously. She moved like she was comfortable in her body, with her sexuality. She moved like she knew I was in the palm of her hand (I was) and she could do anything she wanted with me (she could). She exuded confidence and sexuality and hunger.

I’d never wanted her more.

I watched her dance to music that wasn’t there. Watched her cup her breasts, pull her panties up tight against her body. I wanted to be those panties. Baring that, I wanted to touch them, to feel her through the fabric, to feel it slide frictionless between her skin and mine.

I can already see edits I want to make, but overall, I think this story is definitely hitting the right notes on the erotic scale.

I don’t usually get much work done on weekends because of family obligations but I’m going to do what I can about sneaking in some writing time where I can. And not least of all because I’m anxious to finish the sex scene I’m working on. It’s yummy.

P.S. What the fuck is with not being able to find a single progress meter that will work? Ugh. This one’s images aren’t working, but at least the text looks pretty. I guess.

Erotica Under Glass ~ Day One (Take II)

Sexy bride in pantiesThe first couple days of writing under glass have been a dismal failure. It makes me sad, but it’s true. I had too many distractions, deadlines at work and at school and just life getting in the way. It hasn’t been good.

So I’m starting over.

I’m starting over and I’m going to keep writing under glass until I have either four stories or 10,000 words. Whichever comes first.

Today is my second attempt at day one. I have an energy drink, a clear schedule and an idea for a story. I am going to start working on it (using Write or Die as a little extra incentive) as soon as I post this blog and mention it on twitter. Speaking of twitter, I’ll try to update there regularly (@CoriVidae) so you can follow along.

I will also blog again before I sign off writing for the day, so you could always just check back here for progress if you prefer 🙂

Wish me luck.

Panties Under Glass – Day One

Rear ViewI was meant to begin writing under glass yesterday but there were some technical difficulties that made that impossible. I’m on it today, though and I’m going to expand my writing days by one to make up for the one I’ve lost.

I’m hoping to write 20,000 words over the next few days, stories which largely fall under the theme of panties.

I don’t have any outlines or anything of the like, so progress may be slow until I manage to build some momentum, but don’t give up on me. We’ve got this 🙂

I will update here at the end of each day with my progress and also will share the… let’s make it the second story I write, right here in all it’s first draft glory LOL

So check back to cheer me on, offer prompts or just lurk and see what’s happening.

I will also tweet off and on throughout the next few days to keep everyone updated there so if you don’t follow me on twitter, please do –> @CoriVidae

Erotica Under Glass ~ Panties

Taut torso and lacy pantiesThe dates have been set, and I’m excited to make my first foray into the world of writing under glass. Starting early August 13th and ending late August 16th I will be writing erotica under glass. You won’t be able to watch me write for obvious reasons but you will be able to enjoy the results (right away, without waiting for me to revise, format or any of that stuff that tends to delay releases!).

I am hoping, over the course of those four days, to produce at least five new stories, each of which will be inspired by a photograph I was sent or chose for myself. The photos had a very definite theme: panties. So that’s the flavour I expect the stories to have, the one I’ll be keeping in mind as I brainstorm ideas and write.

So I hope to see you here, one week from today, as I try for the first time to write erotica under glass.

P.S. It’s not too late to send in a photo prompt if you’d like. Either as a comment to this post or via email.

Alice’s Alpha by Ann Gimpel

Alice's Alpha by Ann Gimpel

Ann Gimpel, author of the sexy shifter book, Alice’s Alpha, has come by to guest blog today as part of her Bewitching Book Tour. Ann is talking about where characters come from.

Where Do Story Characters Come From?

Alices Alpha CoverOnce people know I’m a writer, the first question is frequently, “Are your characters based on people you know?” The short answer to that question is sort of. My characters are composites of people I know. Maybe one’s gutsiness married to another’s compassion. That’s the beauty of fiction, my characters can be whomever I want them to. I’m lucky to have a cooperative muse. My last hero, an ancient, time traveling dragon shifter who’s been asleep for three hundred years, came to me in a dream. I just knew I had to write a book about him.

I’ll admit I have a weakness for a certain type of alpha male. I don’t like the rough and tough ones who are mostly good between the sheets, but lack the domestication necessary to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships. Nope, I like the ones who are tall, strong, and gorgeous. They’re able to power their way through most anything, yet they know how to be warm and tender to that special woman in their lives.

The appeal of shifter men is they can take on the traits of their animals. So they radiate danger and a don’t-screw-with-me attitude. They’re also possessive and take care of their own. While that may read well in fiction, the reality is that most women don’t want a Neanderthal breathing down their neck every waking moment. At least for me, effective shifter heroes temper their possessiveness with warmth and caring.

I also have a weakness for a certain type of heroine. I like my women strong and capable. They’re already successful, often in male-dominated professions. In other words, even if they’re on the prowl, they don’t need a man to complete them.

As a writer, I think I can get further with two strong protags. I frequently read stories—in fact, I’m reading one now by Sandra Brown—where both hero and heroine went through severe trauma in their early lives and find healing in one another. While that makes for awesome fiction, I know too much about the reality of trauma’s effects to want to build my books that way. It’s a long and difficult road back from abuse. Maybe because I lived there for so many years sitting in my therapy chair, I haven’t wanted to write about it. Some of my patients still haunt my dreams.

I suppose when all is said and done, I gravitate toward characters with strong personalities and plots that challenge their strength. The beauty of romance is the HEA or HFN and all that simmering sexual tension. The animal magnetism of shifters amps the sensuality till it’s over the top.

How about you? Who are your favorite characters and why would you pick them?
